How to care for your Fine jewellery?

Your custom-made jewellery is a unique and exquisite piece.

To take care of a fine jewellery worn on day to day basis  & to maintain it's sparkle over time, prepare the following items which can be easily found in all households:

i.) A small bowl
ii.) Dishwashing liquid
iii.) Soft toothbrush / brush

Firstly, form a mixture in a bowl using warm water and dishwashing liquid (1 to 2 drops). Place your fine jewelleries into the mixture for few seconds. Remove them and use the soft toothbrush/brush to clean those tough-to-reach nooks and crannies. Rinse the cleaned jewelleries with lukewarm clean water. Wipe clean with microfiber (if available) cloth. An optional step is to dry it with hairdryer for few seconds to remove water stains on diamonds/gems. Tadah! Your jewelleries are all sparkly again! PS: The above advice is recommended for fine jewelleries made of precious metals, genuine gemstones/lab grown diamonds. Any other materials or stones with fragile or unstable chemical composition may have adverse effect when getting into contact with soapy liquid, kindly check with your seller for accurate advice.

For day-to-day basis precautions, we will advise clients to:

i) Consider removing jewelleries before playing sports, doing house chores, cooking/cleaning or lifting heavy objects.

ii) Avoid contacting jewellery with body/hand/facial creams, fragrance and alcohol contained-solutions.

iii) Store jewelleries into separate boxes/padded pouches to avoid friction with one another.

iv) Do self-check on prongs from time to time. Try to do this in a quiet indoor setting. Place jewellery next to your ear and gently tap anywhere on the stone/setting or shake it lightly. If you hear any rattling sound, it means your stone/stones is/are moving around and the prongs have moved. Another scenario is when your jewellery suffers a large impact or fall onto hard surface. When these happen you shouldn't remain wearing your jewellery but to keep them safe in a sealed pouch or closed box and bring it back to us for repair and examination.

v) Avoid sleeping with your rings/ fine jewelleries. Necklaces may be stretched or weakened, prongs on rings may loosen after being hooked onto sheets/pillowcases/blankets, or may even scratch yourself or partner accidentally while asleep. Earrings may change in shape from original form or poke onto the back of ears if one tends to sleep sideway while wearing them without removing in the long run.

Ideally it is recommended to have your jewelleries checked every 6 to 12 months for signs of loosen/ worn prongs or other damages. For high risk setting especially, self-checking should be done more often and so is visitation to the jeweller. So often people tend to forget that fine jewelleries are like cars, you can't just keep driving without servicing!
